Virginia Beach City FC Cruises to 4-1 Victory Over Legacy 76 in Season Opener
Williamsburg, VA. (May 13, 2018) - Virginia Beach City FC rolled over Legacy 76 in Saturday's season-opening match, scoring three first-half goals en route to a 4-1 win. The victory avenged last season's loss to Legacy 76, which ended VB City FC's season.
“Great first performance for our team with tons of new players," said head coach Brian Hinkey. "I thought we played a great possession style game and created some very good chances.”

The fireworks started early, as VB City FC tallied three scores in the first half alone. In the 12th minute, Trevor Knight scored on an assist from Jordy Davis to give VB City FC a 1-0 lead. Sebastian Refi later added two goals, one in the 21st minute and one in the 33rd minute. Refi was named Man of the Match for his performance.
Legacy 76 struck first in the second half but couldn't maintain the momentum. VB City FC shut the door in the 63rd minute as Ty Stallins scored on an assist from Denis Roule. VB City FC dominated most of the match, holding possession for 65 percent of the night.
While the men added three points to start the season, the VB City FC Women's team played to a hard fought draw with Legacy 76, earning one point.
