Cesar Gervacio Bringing World-Class Experience to Virginia Beach City FC Lineup

May 17, 2019

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (May 17, 2019) — Few players on Virginia Beach City FC's roster are as well traveled as midfielder Cesar Gervacio.

Gervacio, who serves as the center attacking midfielder, started young in the Tracy FC Youth Academy. He then spent several seasons in the Ajax organization before joining the San Jose Eatrthquakes' Youth Development Academy. He's played on the international stage in the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup and played two seasons for Peninsula College.

After winning Division MVP in back-to-back seasons, Gervacio played his 2018 season with the UPSL Nevada Coyotes FC. He was selected to the Best XI Third Team, and signed with VBC this offseason.

With all of that experience behind him, Gervacio is taking the mantle as one of the undisputed leaders of VBC.

"We don't expect to lose any games," Gervacio said. "We feel like our squad is really good this year. Our defense is solid, we just have to turn our offense into scores."

Even with all of the experience, Gervacio is one of the younger players on the roster. At just 21 years old, Gervacio is hoping to learn from the older players on the roster and add to his wealth of experience.

"As one of the young guys, I just want to learn from all of the veterans," Gervacio said. "I'm trying to prove myself, but also take in what I can learn."

VBC is kicking off their home schedule on Sat., May 18 at 7 p.m. Charlottesville Alliance FC is the squad making the trip to Powhatan Field. Tickets to VBC's home opener can be bought here
