Virginia Beach City FC to Hold Open Tryouts Ahead of the 2021 NPSL Season

NORFOLK, Va (January 6, 2021) – Virginia Beach City FC will offer open tryouts giving players a chance to earn a roster position as the club's First Team builds their roster for the 2021 Men's NPSL season.

The First Team Tryouts will be held at the Norfolk Collegiate Athletic Complex in Norfolk, Va and will provide participants with the opportunity to be assessed by the club's First Team coaching staff for selection in our NPSL first team. Interested players can expect training sessions, small-sided, and full sided games.

Men's NPSL Saturday, February 6th
Check-In at 9am

Session 1 from 10am to 11am 

Men's NPSL Sunday, February 7th
Check-In at 9am
Session 2 from 10am to 11am 

Men's NPSL Saturday, March 13th
Check-In at 8:30am
Final Session from 9am to 12pm 

Cost: $50 (fee waived for current players)

Virginia Beach City FC is a National Premier Soccer League expansion team awarded by the NPSL in 2013. The team began to play in 2014 and found success on the field earning a Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Berth, two NPSL playoff appearances and an NPSL Mid Atlantic Regular Season Conference Championship Title.

The club had two players selected in the Major League Soccer, MLS SuperDraft (Sydney Rivera, 2014 and Michael Nelson, 2015), four signed to United Soccer League clubs (Robby Dambrot 2019, Shane Wiedt 2019, Jordan Hill 2019, and Brandon Eaton 2018) and, one started for their national team (Ezana Kahsay).

*There is a $50 (non-refundable) registration fee and mandatory waiver to fully complete before attending the open tryouts. This must be completed prior to arriving to the facility in order to participate in open tryouts. The tryout participant is expected to attend one of the two available sessions for an evaluation.
