GIRLS TRYOUTS: Summer Academy Pro Experience | Washington Spirit Academy Exhibition Match Dates
VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA (April 5, 2018) – Virginia Beach City FC will offer Spring Open Tryouts giving players an opportunity to earn a roster position as the club's First Team coaching staff continues to builds their rosters for the 2018 Virginia Beach City FC Summer Academy Pro Experience™.
The Virginia Beach City FC Summer Academy Pro Experience is a club neutral program designed to identify and provide collaboration with Hampton Roads, Va top soccer talent.
This program will also feature a match against Washington Spirit Academy in selected age groups.

The Summer Academy Pro Experience will feature one player pool per age group at the U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, U-18/ First Team Reserves age levels. Each age group will include one male player pool and one female player pool.
Players selected to a Summer Academy Pro Experience roster position will train twice a week totaling 8 to 10 training sessions from late June through July at Norfolk Collegiate Athletic Complex. Goalkeepers will receive specific training for their position.
All training sessions will replicate similar instruction to the VB City FC First Team training environment however, will be tailored to meet the developmental needs at each age level. Each player will receive an official 2018 VB City FC First Team training kit and will have the opportunity to interact with First Team players both on and off the field.
Internally, ages groups U-16 to U-18 will compete in friendly matches against the Virginia Beach City FC First Team. Player pool ages U-14 and below will have First Team players participate in selected training session during small sided games, 1v1 activities, technical work and/ or finishing drills.
In addition to weekly training units, each player pool will plan 1 to 3 exhibition matches against other professional/ ameatur soccer youth academy systems.

Virginia Beach City FC hopes the Summer Academy Pro Experience can help consistently place players into high level clubs, USSF Development Academies (DA), ODP (state, regional, national programs), top collegiate programs, the Virginia Beach City FC First Team and ultimately with either Major League Soccer, MLS (Men) or the National Women’s Soccer League, NWSL (Women) organizations.
The club had two players selected in the MLS SuperDraft since inception, including Sidney Rivera (Orlando City FC) and Michael Nelson (Seattle Sounders FC). Other players have also been signed to other professional clubs in the USL, NASL, and MASL.
