Virginia Beach City FC's Rematch vs FC Baltimore Ends in a Narrow Loss

June 05, 2021

NORFOLK, VA. (June 5, 2021) — Virginia Beach City FC kicked off a two-game road trip on Saturday, traveling north to take on FC Baltimore Christos. VB City FC fell just short, dropping the match 1-0.

VB City FC peppered the Christos defense in the second half, ripping off six shots and earning a last-minute corner that gave them another opportunity to score the equalizer. The attack just couldn’t finish, making FC Baltimore’s 30th-minute goal by Ben Bender the winner.

VB City FC’s backline performed exceptionally well playing their second straight match without keeper CJ Coulson behind them. Coulson was serving the second game of a suspension related to a red card Coulson received on May 22 vs. FC Frederick.

Saturday’s loss drops Virginia Beach City FC’s record to 1-1-3 and is VB City FC’s third scoreless game of the season. The boys get another opportunity on Sunday, June 6, as Virginia Beach City FC travels further north to face Philadelphia Lone Star for the third time this season.

Virginia Beach City FC will return home on June 13 vs. FC Frederick. Tickets are available online at vbcityfc.com or by clicking here.
